There is no other market tool that provides a system that manages a document's life cycle as completely as Laserfiche. When considering their system, make sure to look at the Workflow piece, Laserfiche Forms, and Records Management as part of your solution; they work so well together that it is difficult to think of using their system without those pieces. We are taking people out of the document management process. The primary benefit is that people can focus on more value-adding work instead of spending time tracking paper, filing paper, and storing paper. A downside for our firm is that slides do not feed into TeamSlide in the same order as we have them in the source decks if any updates have been made - the slide(s) most recently updated appear at the top. The workaround is simple, copy/pasting the whole deck back in, but it's still an extra step we have to take any time a slide in the source deck is edited. Filehold document management system does not have suitable mobile application which limits the accessibility and convenience of the software. With that in terms of security roles and permissions it is complex and can be confusing which could cause data risk to the company. In addition to that it does not have user friendly workflow designer which makes it harder to create and customize workflows based on business needs and requirements. Having to pay monthly per user is a high cost and doesn't match the current industry standard of unlimited users, as well as having to pay monthly for the capability to upload our own documents to VV with OCR (ability to be searched/copied and pasted). As things become more and more electronic and hard copies become more obsolete, this should be a functionality included in every competitive electronic document management platform. We pay $500/month for this capability (for very low volume) which is outrageous. Most of all, not having the ability to easily bulk download documents from VV is by far the biggest issue. I am aware that this functionality somewhat exists but A. it costs extra money ($5K configuation fee and $500/month) and B. users have to download third party software to be able to use it. Both of those things are unacceptable as the included ability to natively bulk download directly from the platform is industry standard at this point.
