What I like least about Sage is that there is so much to learn. I had to take alot of training classes in order to just use what I would use for my everyday job. This system unfortunately not be for everyone. I'm a super fast learner but even this was difficult to use starting out and was really confusing. Also, the trainers weren't very good to me. I learned alot just trial and error onmy own- playing around with the system. There is still so much for me to learn as well and it seems as though the learning never ends. I also do not think I have access to the customer support, I believe just our leadership does. Which means I have to reach out to multiple people in order to get help with something. Sage is solving to get our grants in the system but I am still not using everything that is offered fully. I feel llike I still do not know everything yet, even though I have been using this for almost a year now, I believe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No waiting lists available, managing event capacities limited, unable to customize buttons and categories, unable to customize messaging to ticket holders. Export of reports clunky, it would be helpful to be able to create spreadsheets of reports online and customize different search categories instead of doing after the fact. Can't customize homepage or order of events, we never send users to our organization's givebutter homepage because of this. Users get very confused about the donate button and think they are purchasing tickets. Users give us feedback about the checkout being not easy to use. App is also clunky. One con, however, was the lack of readily available HTML5/CSS code for embedding call-to-action (CTA) blocks within our own website's code. While Donorbox offers easy-to-use embeddable forms, we were hoping for more flexibility in customizing the look and feel of our donation buttons and forms using our site’s design elements. Having pre-made code blocks for CTA buttons would allow us to integrate the donation process more seamlessly into our existing website design without needing to build it from scratch. We’ve tried various fundraising tools in the past, including GoFundMe and PayPal, but Donorbox really stood out for its simplicity. With platforms like GoFundMe, we struggled to fully customize the donor experience and embed forms directly onto our website. PayPal, while functional, didn’t provide the same control over creating recurring donations or specific campaigns.

What made Donorbox different was how easily it integrated with our existing Stripe account. Since we were already using Stripe for other payments, we could simply link it to Donorbox within minutes. This made it incredibly efficient—allowing us to start collecting donations in under an hour. The only thing that Novi does not currently do that we want is facility member-to-member communications. It does connect to other platforms that do that, so it's not a huge issue.

Novi did not have all the bells and whistles that we wanted when we started with them a few years ago, but they've been very responsive to feedback and requests, and have added many new features that we've requested. Novi serves as an information hub for us to track our members (database), but also for our members to participate in the association(website). It's the central focus of our operations and activity. Many other SaaS platforms that we use connect or integrate with Novi in some way, and the two synch to Quickbooks Online saves us a huge amount of time by eliminating the need to export/import transactions and then have to reconcile them.

Note on the price: Novi is not the cheapest platform, and it shows. It has been well worth the cost to get the quality customer support and a system that works this well. There are far more expensive systems out there that are not half as good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If I were to have one dislike of the system it is this, sometimes the user interface feels a little clunky. A lot of the people who use the product in our business need more of an easy-to-use interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've used NetSuite to save time and money on payroll processing and bill payments. We've also gained greater visibility on who is spending what and when. We have established workflows that help us manage spending / signing authority limits and spending approvals. We've upgraded our PO processes to make them more streamlined and user friendly. In my last position, the ability to ask people questions who aren't necessarily on the approval list made it easier to properly code and process invoices. Now that I'm in AP, its great to see how those questions make it so the invoice is right when it comes to me for final payment approval. Additionally, the ability to find an invoice regardless of where it is in the process with the search feature is a huge help to answer calls and questions from vendors. The downside was not being able to use the system to send the text messages directly. To get the message and link from the computer to the students phone then send it was a bit of a hassle. A lot of my kids did not have cell phones that they were able to use so that extra step was a bit difficult to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The biggest challenge with using Zeffy has been being able to do automatic recurring payments for a specific amount. For example if I want to pay $250 with $50 a month I have to manually stop the payments once the person gets to $250 instead of having something for an automatic cut off. Can integrate with banking systems to automate payment processing and reconciliation, reducing manual bank statement handling. Nothing major comes to mind. It takes some time to get used to the product, but Zenskar team handheld me configure our contracts on the platform. It was a one-time effort. Now all the deals from HubSpot get created automatically in Zenskar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The overall experience has been great. While invoicing itself was not an issue with us earlier, revrec was a major painpoint. Zenskar helped us create custom revrec rules for different billing schedules, and created journal entries (ASC 606 compliant) with no errors. It also integrates well with QuickBooks and Stripe. I know security is a big deal, and people really need better security, but to sign in, you have to have an authenticator on your phone, scan a QR code, and then enter a code after entering the typical user name and password. It just seems to be a bit much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think one downside I've experienced is report writing. The Intelligent Query Architect can be quite cumbersome, especially if you are not used to SQL-type reporting. Maybe there is such a thing as too much testing. Once, I had an issue where a donation form was defaulting to monthly instead of one-time, and that did not make sense for the context of my link. Support said they were testing a feature, but there was no way to opt out of this test for this particular campaign. (Other AI/machine learning optimizations can be disabled if needed, but not this one yet. This isn't something I dislike about FreeWill specifically, but I'd like to see more data on the long -term longevity of some of these commitments. We used to utliize the national featureship and that brought us 60 new contacts and $8 million in commitments so it helped us sifnificantly increase the number of people who left us in their will.
