Semrush helps me manage my clients' social media and provides an overview for generating SEO strategies for them. Additionally, it offers a range of analytics to determine whether the direction taken is correct or needs to be revised. The agency section is also useful, as it provides leads that either contact me or that I can reach out to, although none of the leads I’ve found or who have contacted me have actually responded. The one feature I think it's missing from RankMath is the ability to re-use a research already made. Researches are quite "expensive" and you spend 500 credits on each one. More than once I've been through the same situation. I perform a research, spend 500 credits than later on, there is a change of heart, a change of keywords and another research is required, another 500 credits. Then we create a new page and want to include the same keywords as before. We could simply load a previous reseach, but no. We pay to spend another 500 to get the exact same information we had before.

We've spent much longer than expected in implementing AIOSEO, because of various bugs present in their software (rather than problems with our integration) - some of which are quite surprising given the maturity of the product. For the first 3 weeks, we were unable to activate our licence key at all due to what turned out to be a bug.

Nearly 2 months on, we are still unable to go live with AIOSEO because it generates meta tags that relate to a different page than the ones they are on. We've yet to identify a solution.

We've been in frequent touch with customer support - but this is only provided via email with typically 48+ business hour response time. This is even on the Elite tier which is meant to have "Premium support", as opposed to "Priority" or "Standard" support on lower tiers - although the exact difference between these support levels isn't actually defined.

I believe that a disadvantage of Google Trends is its handling of local content. For example, when researching topics or information for a piece or a report in a small town or specific location, I think this would make the tool even more efficient. I miss having access to this information in the tool because I am a journalist, and for some more localized topics, I cannot find data to support the creation of an article or video content. I use Frase.io to outline and structure larger blog posts for an information-hungry B2B audience - and need several pairs of eyes on the formative stage of the work too - before we hone the piece prior to publication. The major benefit (other than being able to demonstrate the content is indeed being created for a real audience, not just an idea of what we think an audience might like...) is being able to cross-reference peer information around the topics we are covering, and then deciding on the lifetime of the piece, and/or what follow-up pieces can also be generated in the initial process.
