right now it is challenging to disable or exit from lumigo once the AWS account is integrated. for that action, we need to raise a customer support request which becomes a tedious task for a developer. we have a number of serverless applications deployed on AWS, it's challenging to manually go through logs to get insights like execution time, errors, performance, etc. through cloud watch logs, with lumigo all these challenging tasks become super easy. Letting us focus more on development rather than monitoring. with the insights we get through the Lumigo dashboard, it becomes easy for us to clearly identify bugs, a lambda that is consuming more time, etc. and we can work on fixing those bugs or optimizing and reducing operational costs.

configuring alert notifications helps us quickly focus on issues and thereby helps us maintain the quality/accuracy of the application.

Lumigo also gives us insights on which endpoint or basically which lambda is triggered more, this gives us an idea of what features of our business application are being used more by end-users and we can work on improving the performance and quality of that feature more. There are attempts in New Relic to use AI-like tools to understand the root cause of incidents in complex interconnected systems, but frankly we've never found this to be effective, so while it can highlight all the various issues occurring it does not seem able to pin point which issues are the cause and which are the symptoms. We've had to build up custom dashboards and tooling to fill this gap.

New Relic's price model allows free users to access custom dashboards for free, but puts a paywall around showing the same data in New Relic's own views. As an SRE we predominantly work on customer issues related to our product, lightrun became the go-to tool now whenever we require to debug more on our application behavior. It is a small yet powerful tool that can help debug multiple corner cases with its logging capability. With Lightrun, we have debugged and resolved multiple issues on the fly. This will reduce lot of our headaches and hassle - "Code re-work --> Re-test --> Re-deploy and Re-execution of services" which we usually do just to debug one customer issue. The one disadvantage that Datadog has is that is very much built for power users. Terms like APM and RUM are so niche and difficult for new users to understand that datadog themselves had to build a whole learning/certification system in order to get people up and running in their system.
